The Worst Haircut

I'm fairly certain that I just received the worst hair cut in the world. The stylist who cut my hair didn't have one of those fancy Cosmotologist certificates, which had me slightly worried. But really what do those add up to? Evidently, it adds up to a good haircut that doesn't hurt while you're getting it. Ugh, I think she was on cocaine. There was nothing pleasant about the trip and the entire experience just wanted to make me go get a $40 haircut at the fancy saloon downtoen 'cause I know they'll do a good job.

Also, there is a fan coming out of my head...that happens sometimes. Subsequently, nudity and my house go together like mac and cheese. Don't judge me. Just be thankful I didn't give you the portrait version.

Pointing the Finger (Accountability and You)

There are a couple things that really grind my gears when it comes to people's work ethic. Fortunately, they both come together in this lovely post about accountability! I like taking credit for my work. I do so for a couple of reasons. First, I like to be rewarded and acknowledged for the good deeds I perform. Second, I also like to learn from my mistakes because learning from my mistakes makes me better able to perform good deeds which are rewarded and acknowledged! (Knowing thyself is a wonderful asset, especially when you know yourself at your worst. That's for another post.) So you may not find my sentiments surprising when I tell you that I despise people that do not take credit for their failures or take credit for other peoples successes.

One Cup Per Person.

From talking to Gabe and about how he took one shot of volka and wrote his last blog.  I am assuming his shot size is comparable to cups below.

"For the annual picnic, management had decided we could have alcohol, but for liability issues, there was to be only one (1) drink per person. I was fired for ordering the cups..."

Focus Your Resources

I was recently party to an office meeting where our manager revealed a couple of news items. First was one of our fellow developers is "no longer with us." Hurray for euphemisms. Not that I can blame our manager. I probably would have said something more direct and been vehemently hated for the comment. But this post isn't about our fallen comrade, but instead about the second piece of news we learned. How they were going to fill the position.

Oh ZAP! I want one!

Well I have owned my Prius for a few months now, and I love the car.  It is a great piece of engineering, but I am always on the lookout for the next thing in alternative fuel vehicles.  My previous object of lust was the up and coming VentureOne, a sleek cross between car and motorcycle that leans into turns... nice!  I have been anticipating picking up one of these bad boys, but now I think I may have another vehicle to salivate over.  The all electric ZAP Alias is so amazingly sexy that I suspect it has a built in chick magnet under the hood. ZAP Alias

Bass In Yo Face

Late night coding sessions are tough, but 120+ beat-per-minute break beats blowin' up the ear drums keep me going. I recently purchased some Electro-Breakdance compilations and it has been non-stop bass in your face beats, nice!

I queued the songs up in Winamp, plugged in the the reference JBL earbuds, and turned it up. Ka-POW! Check some of the beats.

  • Afrika Bambaataa - Planet Rock (Instrumental)
  • Cybotron - Clear (Ultimix Looking Back)
  • Hashim - Al Naafiysh (Remix)
  • Kyper - What Get Your Body Hyped
  • Maggotron - Welcome To The Planet Of Bass
  • Richie Rich - My DJ (Pump It Up Some)
  • Twilight 22 vs. Egyptian Lover - Siberian Nights & Electric Kingdom
  • Plus More ...

WordPress 2.3.3

WassupJose.com has been upgraded to WordPress 2.3.3. I will enable the plugins as soon as I finish upgrading a couple of other sites to version 2.3.3. Also, I found a bug in the current template that I need to fix. The broken formatting when previewing is burning my eyes.
