Muziic Lovers

Pay attention! I have a small music collection, which I enjoy playing on Winamp. However, I find myself searching YouTube for specific artists or compilations. In addition to the videos, I listen to music on YouTube.

Well, apparently others do the same. If you are living under a technology rock, you may not be aware of Muziic, The YouTube media player. It was released a couple weeks ago and has created a large buzz on the Internet.

I installed the application, so far so good. I think it is too early to say whether or not I like it, but I wanted to jump on the wagon and see what the news is all about. As a sidenote, I used to do this manually using DVDVideoSoft's YouTube to MP3 Converter.

iCunt Application

I'm sure you have seen the trend in iPhone application naming conventions. Everything and anything is pre-fixed with an "i". iWalk, iSpeak, iListen, iFart, etc. The iCount application is no exception, but the logo needs a slight revision. At first glance, it reads iCunt. Nice.

Shopping Tips I

I have not had time to compile the exhaustive list of shopping tips, so here are two to get things started in the right direction. Actually, I think I might be able to do more than two shopping tips now.

  • Purchase breads, snack cakes, etc. at Hostess Bakery (save over 50% off retail)
  • Generics, generics, generics (save big cash buying generics or in-store brands)
  • Fruit juice concentrates (approx. 0.15 to 0.20 cents per ounce versus cartons)
  • Pay attention to the per unit costs on the price tags (save big if you pay attention)
    • For example Pepsi $0.25 each or Coke $0.33 each (duh, buy the Pepsi)
    • 2-litre bottles are cheaper than cans (save per unit and save in CRV too)
  • Bulk may not be the best buy (do not be impulsive and biggie size for nothing)
  • More to follow (as mentioned previously, I am saving hundreds per month)

Recklessness and Greed

The very same words that Obama uses to describe the actions of AIG, nice! We are not just blowing air out of our asses, reckless decisions (spending) and greed are the root cause of the real estate, financial system, and state deficit meltdowns.

WASHINGTON – Joining a wave of public anger, President Barack Obama blistered insurance giant AIG for "recklessness and greed" Monday and pledged to try to block it from handing its executives $165 million in bonuses after taking billions in federal bailout money. "How do they justify this outrage to the taxpayers who are keeping the company afloat?" Obama asked. "This isn't just a matter of dollars and cents. It's about our fundamental values."

I over-use the adjectives, but the words are fitting of the people behind the mess. Another word I use is accountability. The economy will recover, the states will gouge us, and banks will move forward, but nobody is being held accountable. Business as usual!

Corruption Continues

It didn't take very long for another politician to be convicted of corruption. Vincent Fumo, former Philadelphia Senator, is found guilty of 137 counts of corruption. Great job! I stand by my umbrella statement that politicians are corrupt, here is another example.

I applaud the prosecutors for their efforts. I am looking forward to continued investigations and prosecutions against these corrupt individuals. They are enemies of the state and their actions are detrimental to the well being of this country. Smack them down!

Responsible Ducks

I am amazed at how some people will NOT take any responsibility for their actions. Nothing is ever their responsibility or fault, because they always have an excuse. I call these people DUCKS, because everything rolls off their backs.

Surely, you know such people. Unfortunately, I know a duck. This evening, the duck would not take responsibility for a completing a task. Instead, I was told it was my responsibility to complete the task. What the hell!

It was not my task to complete, but it was forced on me because said person did not know how to complete it (i.e. read too damn lazy to do it or abuses the "I don't know how to do it" card). I am tired of this crap. Own up mofos!

By the way, the reckless !#$%^ that ran our financial system and states into the ground are ducks. You will NEVER see the duck come forward and take responsibility for problems, yet will take any and all credit for successful efforts.

Stunt Fish II

The stunt fish are doing well. I had to take quick action to lower the ammonia levels in the tank, so I changed out 1/2 of the water and replaced the water filter. The fish are strong and moving around as if nothing had happened. The break in period is always challenging.

Check Please

How many people in this day and age still use checks? The only time I use checks to pay for products is when there are no other options (i.e. old school vendors that are stuck in the stone age), rent, and other rare occassions.

Most vendors accept ATM, so it is my preferred method of payment. If the vendor does not accept credit or debit cards and I have no cash on hand, I am outta there. I guess I expect others to adopt the same. Wake up people, it is 2009.

I should note that businesses still use this method of payment. Payroll checks come to mind and large transactions (i.e. automobiles, houses, etc.) If you are in front of me and planning on paying with a check, move aside so I can pay and get out!

TFS Notes: Unplanned Work Report

The IT department I work for decided that I should host a TFS presentation, so they could learn all the cool stuff I'm doing. During the presentation a question was raised about the Unplanned Work Report that comes out of the box with TFS. At the time I didn't have an answer, but I pinged WassupJose on the question and he had an excellent answer via email that I wanted to highlight here. Thanks Jose!
