Twitter Space
Just as I predicted, Oprah's show launched Twitter into a MySpace craphole. Look around. Porn stars, spammers, soccer moms, and all walks of life are rushing to Twitter. The jacked up profiles and spam are everywhere. Google are you ready to fork over one billion for it?
McApple Store
Move over McDonalds, we have a new sheriff in town. Apple's App Store has served 1 Billion apps in nine months. This is a huge milestone for the iPhone and the App Store. Google and Microsoft, are you listening? Apple, release a Windows-based SDK and make it 3 Billion in 18!

RIP GeoCities
Wow! For a split second, I traveled back in time. I just read that Yahoo! is shutting down its GeoCities service. Do you remember GeoCities and the annoying floating toolbars? I had not heard the GeoCities name in years and now I learn it is shutting down.
I remember visiting personal sites and cheesy corporate sites on the free hosting service. It seemed like every other site in the country was hosted at GeoCities. Since we are traveling back in time, whatever happened to AOL and its FREE AOL DVDs?

Expensive Jordans!
Okay, if I read this listing correctly the seller is offering a pair of original 1985 Jordan shoes for an insane $4,777.23. How does one put a value on shoes and where did the 777.23 come from? No thanks, I am saving to pay off the 26.0+% interest rate - Chase Bank - credit cards!

Chicken Choking 101
School-related news is always interesting, but I have to admit this story is weird. Ladies and gentlemen, I present you with chicken choking 101. I like the part where he was calling out the students names. Can you picture it? Bruahaha!

City Worker Blues
Apparently, a city IT director has been fired for downloading over 24,000 porn images. Now, Brad Williams, is fighting to get his job back claiming that he didn't download the images to the computer. Quick, check the internet history and network logs.
Take note citizens, our local government dollars at work. If it was not the IT director who downloaded the images, someone else is wasting a LOT of time downloading and organizing the porn collection on tax payer dollars. Nice job!
Health Insurance Ripoff
Yup, this is certainly not a secret. We all know that medical insurance and the industry as a whole is a huge ripoff. I just read a very disturbing article, which states that health care in NY averages an absurd $4354 per month for family health coverage. WTF!
Tooter
If you have not heard the news, Twitter made its debut on Oprah. I can see it now, soccer moms from across the globe are going to register and get their tweets on. Yeah, real news here folks. Twitter is on its way to becoming the craphole that is MySpace.
Since we are on the topic of Twitter, check out who or WHAT else is getting its tweet on these days. Yup, an office chair tweets everytime someone drops an F-bomb or how about the tweeting toaster. Has anyone built a tweeting toilet? Hmmm.
No Surprise
Exxon Mobil overtakes Wal-Mart as #1 on the Fortune 500. I'm not surprised given all of the gouging that took place last year. Do you recall the oil companies reporting record profits each quarter? This country needs to look for alternate fuels and kick big oil to the curb.

Credit Card Abuses
I am keeping an eye on this specific topic, because I am the victim (as are many credit card holders) of abusive interest rates (read Chase Bank). Apparently, White House officials plan to meet with greedy executives of credit card companies to discuss. Read the excerpt:
The meeting comes as lawmakers in the Democratic-led Congress have vented anger that banks with big credit card operations charging high interest rates and fees are the same institutions getting government bailouts from U.S. taxpayers who use these credit cards.
