WordPress Media Bug

I think I just discovered another WordPress "bug". I was cleaning up the media and noticed the image tooltips displaying the wrong text. It appears the tooltips are displaying the text of the next image. For a second, I thought it was me. Check out the screenshot.

Announcing One’s Plans

Seems like I blew it yesterday when I announced my intentions to learn the Unity Application Block according to "Shut up! Announcing your plans makes you less motivated to accomplish them", which states

Announcing your plans to others satisfies your self-identity just enough that you’re less motivated to do the hard work needed.

So although my intention was to create some artificial mandates through accountability, the stats seem to say otherwise.  You'll just have to keep me honest. :)

I have an inkling that if I decided to announce that I was going to gain 20lbs, I wouldn't have a problem. ;)

Completely unrelated: I also have on my radar some summer reading: Clockwork Orange and The Acts of King Arthur and His Noble Knights in preperation for the 29th Annual Steinbeck Festival.

Unity Application Block – Lab 01

Alright so I didn't end up making it through the entire lab last night, but I did get through several of the steps. This is actually difficult to learn. Maybe next time I'll try it without a glass of wine.

Reply to All

So who's dumber, The guy writing the email for hitting Reply To All or the people he's complaining about. I report, you decide.

I present to you Exhibit A:

Dear AdminPerson,

On behalf of the few moronic humans who occupy this building who did not have a care-giver in their life teaching them to clean up after themselves, I apologize for their lack of courtesy.  I am also sorry you had to even send out a note such as this.  I guess for some of us it is simply too difficult to take responsibility for our own actions and to think of the next person.

Thank you, AdminPerson.

Good afternoon,

Facilities would like to remind staff that the restroom facilities are communal areas.  When using the restroom please be courteous to others and clean up after yourself.  This includes putting tissue in the appropriate receptacles and not leaving it for others to clean up.  If the restroom requires additional cleaning or a hazardous situation occurs such as a spill, please report it.

Your continued cooperation and common courtesy are appreciated.

Opportunity Knocks

Twitter has opened up new opportunities for many entrepreneurs, including the operators of TweepMe. What is TweepMe? It is an opt-in group of Twitter users who choose to follow each other.

WTF is right! You are paying a fee to "BUY" a group of followers. I can see SPAM written all over these type of services. Imagine a spammer joining the service for $12.95 and getting an active opt-in user list to market their crap! Check out the program benefits.

1. To meet new Tweeple I might otherwise have never found on Twitter.
2. To get a good jumpstart on a new Twitter account with a nice set of followers.
3. To increase my credibility on Twitter by having a higher number of followers. Haha!
4. To monitor tweets from a variety of users across many different industries and topics.

Unity Application Block

I need to get my learn on so I pinged my mentor and our good friend WassupJose for advice on Dependency Injection. He pointed me to Microsoft's Unity Application Block. I've downloaded all the materials and have started up on Hands-On Lab 1. I'm going to try and post on my progress on a daily basis to keep myself on task. Nothing like some accountability to keep you moving...

Cold Sell

Water

I run into the local supermarket last night to pick up a couple of items and more importantly to refill my water buckets for the fish tank. (I decided to start buying them filtered water to help my algae problem) I walk into the store with my cart filled with the empty containers and head towards the refrigerated section since I needed to pick up some eggs. I suddenly catch the vibe that someone is following me. Maybe because K-Man was suppose to visit me this weekend and didn't the guy happened to remind me of him, but I notice that there's an Indian fellow tailing me. However, this guy is acting a little odd. He's obviously following me, but pulling the "I'm looking at this handy kitchen appliance on display as soon as the person I'm tailing turns around to look at me." Strange. I grab my eggs and pull up to the water filtration center and start filling my containers and sure enough this guy pulls up right next to me. "Is that purified water?" I answer in the affirmative and try to give him some more details about the process since he seems to be curious. I tell him where I purchased my containers and the reason why I happened to choose this station. He just continues to gaze at the machine and seems to be taking in the display. I figure he's trying to make a decision on whether to buy some water. Then he says, "I have a purifier at home, which with a family of 3-4 would equate to 30 cents a gallon a year." hah! This mofos is trying to sell me a product. I humored him a bit and then went on my way. He had my number the whole time when he saw me walk into the store with those water jugs. I hope though, for his sake, that he doesn't just stand around waiting for people to walk in with empty water jugs all night.

Theme Park Food II

Yesterday, I published a post about the over-the-top theme park food prices. Today, I find an article titled, "Six Flags Seeks Chapt. 11 Bankruptcy Protection”. I cannot believe it. The company must make a kajillion dollars in food sales alone! I do NOT make this stuff up, ha!

Microsoft Hot or Not

I'm sure you have seen the endless "Hot or Not" sites on the web. Well, I just learned that Microsoft Corp. filed a US Patent Application for an "Online Personal Appearance Advisor" claiming the company invented the "Hot or Not" process. Yeah, right!

Theme Park Food

Is way over-the-top expensive, good lord! I thought I was going to have to apply for a line of credit before the day was over. Examples: Subway 6" Turkey, Doritos, and Medium Drink for $14.71 AND Three Johnny Rockets' Single Cheeseburger Meals for $45.00+. Damn!
