Four More Days
Arrggh, four more days until the weekend. I am feeling a bit burned out these days and am looking forward to a three day weekend. Aside from the handful of holidays, I haven't taken any time off this past year. * Sigh *
In preparation for the weekend, I think I am going to queue up a couple of posts so I don't miss a day and break the streak. I have published a fresh, though many "lite" posts for two hundred and forty four (244) consecutive days! Only four more days.
Dual Screen Laptop
I'm not quite sure what to think of the latest offering from gScreen. It's a dual 15.4 screen laptop designed for users who need the additional real estate to perform their jobs. Hmm, I can only image that weight and battery life is going to be an issue.
Also, extending the screens would have its limits. For example, the dual screens would not be welcome on public transportation, "Yeah, excuse me while I slide the second LCD out." On the other hand, I can watch Family Guy on one screen and work on the other, nice!

Disposable Email Accounts
Since our buddy Gman published the post on 10 Minute Mail, I have been using it like it was going out of style. I do not have to give out a "real" email address to download software or register on a site, because we all know the sites are building their spam email lists.
Today, I was wondering if I could extend the 10 minute period without sitting on their page and requesting additional time. Well, it turns out there are many temporary email account providers. Some provide customizable life spans and forwarding, below is a short list:
- Mailinator - auto account creation and check email via RSS, widget, or browser!
- Mailexpire - lifespan from 12 hours to 3 months
- Jetable - lifespan 1 hour to 1 month with forwarding
Note: I found over 20-30 plus services, but I need to filter them out before posting here. I noticed that some services post the content of the email on their website and some of the services appear "shifty" (i.e. require registration with name and email verification).
Xbox 360 Price Cuts
A couple of days ago, I published a post regarding the new and "affordable" PS3 Slim. I gave Sony credit for that one, but think I need to down grade it because Microsoft just cut the prices of their Xbox 360 Elite and Pro models.
Yup! The Xbox 360 Elite has been slashed to $299! Also, Microsoft is discontinuing the Xbox 360 Pro. If you can find the Pro model, it can be yours for a "slim" $249 + tax. Gamers have some choices to make. PS3 Slim or Xbox 360 Elite?

New Theme
I do not know about everyone else, but I think it is time for a new "look". I found a couple themes and will post them here for comments. I am going to reinstall the rating plugin too, so readers can vote.
I am open to ideas, but one of the criteria for the new theme is the content area must be 500px wide to support the current images, videos, etc. embedded in the posts. I prefer a theme, which supports widgets too. Comments?

Robocalls Banned
It is about time someone had the balls to ban the automated telemarketing calls that spam our lives. I am on the do not call registry, but still receive bullshit calls from companies and individuals that I have never done business with.
Anyway, the FTC has banned the so-called "robocalls". Effective September 1st. But there are exceptions:
Other calls not covered by the Telemarketing Sales Rule include those from politicians, charities that contact consumers directly, banks, insurers, phone companies, survey calls and certain health care messages such as prescription notifications. These don't fall under the jurisdiction of the FTC, a commission spokesman said.
The above exceptions should read, "Special interest groups!" Why the hell would I want a politician or any of the above to contact me? Nice try, but this deserves a "C" grade due to the special cases.
Same Old Story
If I did not have bad luck, I would not have ANY luck at all. I have tried to access my online AT&T account for days. Well, I have been greeted with error messages or have been logged out a handful of times for no obvious reason. These guys cannot do anything right.
Read the message below. It is the same played out story, "We are sorry and we are working on it." Arrghh! I hate AT&T with a passion. I want to drop them, but the community I live in signed an exclusive 20-year deal with AT&T. Quick, someone call the FCC and DOJ!

Now They Tell Me
Haha! I found a post on cracked.com titled, "How to slander online ...". Yup, the first thing I said was "Let me check that out, because I need some tips!" I will spare the details of the post, but will highlight a couple of the guidelines for your reading pleasure.
- It's not slander if it's true - that is right biatch!
- You cannot defame someone who already has a terrible reputation - anyone?
- Frame all your hate filled lies as a how-to guide - I am on it.
T-Mobile Ripoff
I am pissed! I just learned that T-Mobile charges $1.79 for directory-assistance calls. WTF! It is all about the nickle and dime for the greedy scum. Do the wireless companies alert users when they are about to use a "premium" service? Hell NO!
The wireless companies are counting on consumers using the services and going over their allotted minutes or messages. Why? Its a cash cow and its all about greed. Well, I am going to pull out that handy-dandy contact list and blow some peoples hair back!

AT&T Probe
It appears that the FCC is probing into AT&T and other wireless carriers. All I can say is that it is about time! The FCC probe includes examination of wireless competition and consumer billing (including the strong arm wireless contracts).
Wireless companies are gouging consumers and getting away with it because US consumers are too lame to notice and the FCC has had its head up its ass. Is the FCC still investigating Janet Jackson's nipple slip?
Whatever the reason, it is about time the FCC probes the wireless market. I would suggest that the FCC probe the cable market too. This is another market that needs to be probed for its predatory practices, monopoly, and contracts. AT&T offers cable service too!
