Proxy Fixed

Alright, I spent a few minutes looking into the problem and it turns out the DNS record was pointing to the wrong IP address. I do not know how the IP changed, but I assume it could be due to the domain name expiration. Whatever, the proxy is up and running!

Ants, Ants, Ants

Arrrrgh! We have a nasty ant problem and I am starting to get pissed off. The mofos showed up a couple weeks ago and will not get the hell out of town! I have followed numerous tips to get rid of the ants, but none seem to be working.

We vacuum every day, wipe down counters, keep the sinks clean, etc. but the damn pests will not leave. In addition to the cleaning, I am placing traps near the trails. Hopefully, the ants will take the poison back and kill the queen.

If these mofos are not gone within the week, I am going to call pest control and have them fumigate the damn place. The only positive is that I do not have a cockroach problem. This is the last straw, so get out before I drop the F-bomb!

Proxy Update

As promised, a quick update on the proxy. I updated the domain name servers, re-installed the script, but no luck! I suspect the domain name servers got jacked up when the domain name expired, so I need to manually configure the entries.

I am swamped the rest of the week, but I will try to fix the proxy this weekend. If it bombs again, I will just use another domain name. Also, I need to ask GoDaddy wassup with parking domain names that expire. More damn problems!

Proxy Is Down

I planned on using the handy-dandy proxy script to access this blog, but found the proxy is unavailable and the domain expired a couple days ago. Lame-o! I renewed the domain name for another year, but the domain name still resolves to a parked page. Wassup?

Hmm, I assume it is due to the domain name expiration. I will keep an eye on it, so for now try one of the many anonymous proxies out there. If needed, I will install the proxy script on another domain. Check back tomorrow for an update.

Didn’t Bother

This is an update to the Why Bother post. Well, I tried to convince myself that it might not be so bad working with "classic" technologies. What the hell was I thinking? I had to smack myself out of it and have officially turned down the project.

No doubt, I made the right decision. I have enough headaches as it is, so I kicked it to the curb. Even with a higher rate, I still think I would have come to the same conclusion. "Not going to happen!"

No Relation

Haha! I got the smack down for comparing Paranormal Activity and Saw VI. Actually, what I wanted to communicate is that Saw VI was expected to be a blockbuster release this past weekend, but got kicked to the curb by the low-budget horror flick.

I think it is quite an accomplishment, because Paranormal is on its 5th week and is showing in fewer theaters than most new releases. Regarding the "comparison", there is none. Saw has its own cult following, after all it is number SIX. Can we say "Milk it like Milkman?"

Paranormal Sales

Okay, now I really want to see Paranormal Activity. The movie biatch slapped the new Saw release with a weekend gross of $22M compared to Saw's anemic $14M. Paranormal Activity raked in major Benjamins showing in 1091 fewer theaters than Saw too. Kapow!!!

Paranormal Activity

Yo! Have the homies seen Paranormal Activity? I keep hearing the radio ads and reading the outrageous reviews, but I have not found one reliable resource to tell me if it is all hype or it truly is a "crap your pants" scary movie.

I am not much of a scary movie fan, but the hype has caught my attention. A couple weeks ago, friends and family saw it and told me they were so scared that they walked out of the theater. Yeah, but they get scared of their own shadows so it does not count.

If you have seen this movie, let me know if it is a "cotton pusher". If you have not seen the movie and want to see it, holla! I will buy the movie tickets and goodies. I prefer to go with a group versus going alone.

Doctor Doctor

What is wrong? I think I caught another virus. Yup, another damn virus indeed. I just spent over two hours cleaning another laptop. All laptops have the latest version of AVG or other brand of virus scan software, but think it's not enough to combat the crap on the web.

The drive by installations are the worst, because most users will not know when or where the virus is installed until it is too late. The mofos, which piss me off the most, are the ones that disable the task manager, explorer, or other executables.

Screw all you assholes that have nothing better to do than write viruses and malware. If I am surfing in unknown areas, I use a VM. If it gets infected, no big deal. Others are not so lucky. Well, until the next time and keep your stuff protected. Later!

Me Tarzan!

Have you ever seen the multi-colored knee socks, which have openings for each toe? Haha, those are the ones. Well, Vibram took that idea further and created FiveFinger shoes. The shoes look ridiculous, but it's the latest rage so I hear.

It is ideas like this that make me think, "Why didn't I think of that crap?" Hmmm, how about five-fingered gloves? Dammit! How about five toed boots? Oh yeah, I think we can make that work. Me Tarzan, you SumYumGal.
