Wassup Jose Weblog nonsense at its best!

Three Six Five

Yup. I published a new post each and every day for 365 consecutive days. Kapow! Looking back through the archives, most of the posts are half-baked with a handful of classics. The rants were all over the place too. I claim writers block, ha!

I have a movie to watch, so I will close out the year with another rant. Headlines, "Obama family goes to the movies to see 'Avatar'”. My response, "Who gives a shit!" As soon as he does something newsworthy, I will let you know. AP = gossip rag!

Nexus One Release Date

I heart leaked information! If you have been reading the news on the upcoming Nexus One, you know what I am referring to. Nice! Anyway, Wired has some interesting 411. The Google Nexus One will be released at an invitation only event on January 5, 2010.

If you did not receive an invitation to the release, do not worry. Ordinary Joes like me can buy it through T-Mobile for a cool $180.00 with a 2-year contract. The screenshot on Wired hints that only one plan is available. Fail if this is true.

Also the plan appears to be a 500 minute talk + unlimited messaging and web for $79.99 per month. This is a lame plan! I have an unlimited voice plan plus unlimited messaging and web for $84.99. Hopefully, T-Mobile will offer other plans else talkers are screwed!

Terrifying Tuesday

I knew if I waited long enough Paranormal Activity would be released on DVD. Well, it is out today! I missed the theater release, because I could not find anyone to go with and wasn't going to do the solo visit. Now, I can push cotton in the comfort of my own place.

I am not ready to buy a copy, so I will rent it and post a mini-review. If it is as scary as the reviews lead me to believe, I should enjoy the movie. Crap, it is late and might not make it to the local video rental tonight. I will rent a copy tomorrow, nice!

iPhone for Big Apple

Another butt scratcher compliments of AT&T. The iPhone is available via the AT&T website again. WTF! I have read tens of follow up posts, but nobody seems to know the real reason iPhone sales to New York were suspended for a couple days. We may never know.

I am waiting for the "official" statement from AT&T, but I am not holding my breath. We all know it will be some marketing bullshit or better yet, AT&T will point the finger at someone else. Lame.

No iPhone for Big Apple

Apparently, AT&T has stopped selling iPhones in New York. If you recall, both New York & San Francisco are the two areas most affected by outages and congestion due to the large number of iPhone users in the areas.

This is not a solution to the problem! How about investing a small portion of the Billions you gouge from consumers on your infrastructure? Verizon, listen up. Seize the opportunity and develop another biatch slap AT&T commercial. Pimp the Droid to the Big Apple too!

Update: iPhones are available via the retail channel. Only the online sales of iPhones in N.Y. have been suspended due to conflicting reasons. Whatever the reasons, no iPhones to New York via the AT&T website. Oh, my comment regarding their infrastructure stands.

Rock Band 2 Gone

Finally, it is gone! I had an extra copy of Rock Band 2 SE for Xbox 360 and it sat longer than I expected. I listed it for sale on Craigslist and this blog, but no luck. Screw it! Christmas is over and we know what that means, right? After Christmas sales and returns!

You guessed it. I returned the game to a local retailer as a gift return and was given store credit. I lost over $100.00, but store credit is better than nothing and I really needed the game to go. What a hassle!

Wassup Lately

Alright, another "What am I doing?" post. I was flicking through the channels last night and passed Chelsea Lately doing her roundtable routine. Guess what? In the few seconds that I was on the channel, I managed to catch her talking about Tiger Woods.

Here is the kicker; she asked "Where's Reverend Al Sharpton?" Didn't I ask the question 1st in the "Keeping It Real" post published 6 days BEFORE her show aired? Chelsea, are you and your writers biting my material? If so, can I get a "Wassup Jose" on your next show?

More Portable Goodies

Okay. Just passing on some more portable goodies. I use the PortableApps.com suite, but I recently found other useful portable suites and want to pass on the links. LiberKey offers 3 suite editions for those who need a "swiss army knife" at their immediate disposal.

If you need only design specific tools, check out PicPick. The suite contains many handy-dandy design tools, including a portable image editor, screen capture, color picker, ruler, and more. LiberKey contains PicPick, so choose what fits best.

Last, but certainly not least a handy-dandy computer repair utility suite for the designated computer repair person in your life (if you are like me, I am that person). I use other repair tools, but the Computer Repair Utility Kit is a nice addition to the old toolbox.
