Android App Inventor

I am lagging! I just learned of Google's Android App Inventor visual programming language. It is in alpha-stage, but image the possibilities. People with zero programming knowledge can develop applications for the Android platform. (Not necessarily a good thing!)

I assume for complex mobile applications, developers will have to get their hands dirty with Java and the Android SDK. It will be interesting to see the product evolve and the impact it will have. Just hope we do not see hundreds of fart applications or other useless crap!

Keeping It Real

I was reading the news as I do every evening and just laughed when I read the following:

Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz told an investor conference in New York this week that the Woods story was "better than Michael Jackson dying" when it came to helping Yahoo make money, because it is easier to sell ads next to salacious content.

Yeah! She said Yahoo is making money off of the Woods story and it is better than Michael Jackson dying. Kapow! Okay Carol, tell us how you really feel and do not hold back.

"It's kind of hard to put an ad up next to a funeral," she said. Bartz even said Woods will "absolutely" help Yahoo achieve its financial projections this quarter ...

I am sure all of the gossip rags are eating this crap up. People just love gossip and scandal. I am a bit surprised the media whore lawyers and personalities are not more visible. Where is Reverend Al Sharpton? Haha!

AT&T Smartphone Users

AT&T is up to no good ... once again! If you enjoy the unlimited data plans, listen up. AT&T has announced that it will give "high-bandwidth users incentives to reduce or modify their usage."

What does this mean in plain English? AT&T is planning on introducing "usage" based pricing for its data plan. WTF! This is the same shit that cable providers are trying too. What next? Are you going to limit the amount of food I eat, water I drink, and air I breath?

I am going to go out on a limb here. I am going to predict that AT&T is going to have several data plans available. Why? So it can gouge the shit out of casual users (overage charges per KB) or force users to pay for more than they need. Tell me I am wrong!

Moving On Up

WassupJose.com is moving on up just like the Jeffersons. I just checked the blog's Google PageRank and we are PageRank 2. Don't know what PageRank is? Wikipedia and Google can explain it better than I can, but here is an excerpt:

PageRank Technology: PageRank reflects our view of the importance of web pages by considering more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms. Pages that we believe are important pages receive a higher PageRank and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results.

PageRank also considers the importance of each page that casts a vote, as votes from some pages are considered to have greater value, thus giving the linked page greater value. We have always taken a pragmatic approach to help improve search quality and create useful products, and our technology uses the collective intelligence of the web to determine a page's importance.

Xbox Live Bans

Warning to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 players. If you abuse the "Javelin Missile Exploit", you are risking being banned from the Xbox Live Service. The bans can be as short as one day (24 hours) to getting kicked to the curb permanently.

Patch the stupid ass exploit and be done with it. Players use glitches all the time, why the head up the ass stance on select exploits? I have Modern Warfare 2, but was not aware of the exploit until today. I am going to try it just for shits now, haha!

Weekend Footsies

No personal rants, video game deals, or gadget news today. I am going to publish a photo of another pair of sexy feet for our readers. Why? Searches for "sexy feet" have jumped again and have eclipsed all other search terms by a factor of 10+.

It is clear most visitors are arriving at the blog looking for sexy feet content. Unfortunately, I do not have original content for the readers. Hopefully, the repeated kicks in the ass will keep me motivated so I can publish exclusive footsies in the future.

Damn Carts

Have you ever shopped at Ikea? If so, have you ever used their shopping carts or flat carts? Yes, the carts with four-wheel independent steering. The damn carts do NOT travel in the direction they are pointed! WTF!

Each time I use one of their shopping carts, I want to kick the shit out of it. I do not know about you, but I prefer that the cart not perform a 360-degree turn when I want to turn a corner. Stupid cart design. Ikea, listen up. I hate your damn carts!

Another Game Deal

Hey, GameStop has just rolled back prices on a couple games too. For example, Left 4 Dead 2 is $39.99 + $10.00 online coupon for future purchases. Compare to Walmart at $50.00 (was $59.96). Ya gotta love the price wars!

GameStop has other deals too, but I am not sure what to make of the following listing. The new game price is $39.99 and the used game price is $49.99. Whatever. Purchase a new one and be done with it. Halo 3: ODST is on sale for $39.99 too!

Sexy Feet Return

Okay ... before I continue I must refer to Gman's post titled "Announcing One's Plans”. I am guilty of announcing intentions and then letting personal projects sit half baked. What ever happened to the sexy feet site? I am glad that you asked!

I purchased the domain, premium template, and logo design. What is the current status? It is sitting half baked, CRAP! I am over the damn flu and back in the saddle, so I am going to open my big mouth again and commit to finishing the site. Stay tuned!
