Korean BBQ Revisited
I had a taste for some Korean BBQ goodness today, but I was a bit hesitant due to the last couple of subpar experiences and Gman's most recent review. I thought about it for a few minutes, "Hmm, should I do Korean BBQ or grab something else?"
After a few minutes, I figured that I could give OZ another chance. I am glad that I gave it another shot, because it was a great night. The waitress was friendly, attentive, and I did not have to chase her down for the bill.
The food was the best part of course. I am still bummed that they did not have the pickled cucumber. What the heck? Anyway, dinner was great. The only complaint I have is that we were seated close to a group of loud mofos.
Maintenance Mode
Since upgrading to WordPress 2.9.1, I cannot use the "empty spam" button. I do not know if it is due to the upgrade or if there is a conflict with a plugin. Whatever it is, it needs to get fixed as I am tiring of manually deleting each spam comment.
Inquiring minds need to know, so I started poking around the blog. I have not resolved the spam comment issue, but did find other issues. I found broken links, missing images, orphan media, broken plugins, etc. Who is maintaining this damn blog?
Well, the monk took over and started cleaning house. If you visited late last night or early morning, you may have been greeted by the "maintenance mode" page. Yup, that was me tearing shit up.
I am not finished cleaning house, so excuse the interruption of service while I clean house and fix the pesky issues. Regarding the spam comment issue, I Googled around but have not found a resolution. If you have an idea, please pass it along. Thanks!
Lenovo U1 Netbook
The hype around the technology portals is currently the "Big Ass" iPod Touch. How quickly we forget about the other hypes (i.e. Google Nexus One "super" phone). Well, it looks like the tablet wars have started. Let's see how long it will last.
I commented that the iPad was not for me and that is and will hold true. I need a computer not a media tablet. Anyway, I think I pitched the Dell v13 a couple days ago. Well, I want to throw another candidate in the mix.
Red Light Green Light
What is the opposite of "unavailable"? Anyone? Okay, I am going to tell you. The opposite of "unavailable" is "available". With that said, check out the targeted system availability dialog box below:

A fat red "X" equals unavailable and a fat green "Check" equals unavailable. What the heck? I am going to go out on a limb here, but I think the dialog message for the green "Check" is wrong. By the way, the reporting services were available. Damn, so close.
I should mention that this is a 2.0 release too, nice! I hope the developers are not working on any municipal traffic light projects anytime soon. "Mr. WassupJose, we are issuing you a traffic ticket for running a green light." Bruahaha!
Big Ass iPod Touch
Well, Apple announced their new tablet product in S.F. today. It is indeed named the iPad and runs an iPhone-like OS. I am still catching up on the hype, but it appears to run native iPhone applications.
It will be available in 6 different configurations and retail from $499 to $829. The Wifi version ships in 60 days followed by the 3G version in 90 days. I am not sure what to think of it, but it is definitely an eBook Reader-Netbook hybrid (which market are you targeting Apple?)
Apple iAnnouncement
Well, tomorrow is the day Apple is scheduled to announce their new tablet product. Based on the renderings published over the past couple weeks, it looks nice. A kindle-sized touch tablet rumored to run iPhone applications (i.e. a big ass iTouch).
I want to see the real deal iPad, iSlate, or iWhatever with detailed specifications and video previews! Oh, something else came to mind. AT&T's exclusive iPhone contract is nearing its term. It is rumored that the iPhone will be available on Verizon and T-Mobile soon. Nice!

Make Me An Offer
Haha! Periodically, I check the worth of this blog. Not that I plan to sell out, but for a good laugh and it gives me something to post. Are you ready for the latest and greatest valuation of wassupjose.com?
Unsecure Email Service
Okay, I will try to keep this as simple as possible. I have been using 10 minute mail when I fill out web forms (mofos collecting emails to build their spam lists, but that is another story). I needed more than 10 minutes today, so I searched for another disposable email service.
Before you flame my ass, I know that I can request additional time from 10 minute mail. I do not want to sit on the page, clicking the "10 more minutes!" link. I just want a longer term disposable email and tried out tempemail.net.
Here is the 4-1-1. The temporary email service is not secure. I know it is temporary, but it should be secured (just in case). Well, here is the bug. If you create an email address that exists, you receive an error. No problem, go to "check" to view the existing account.

Need A Ride?
If you need a ride, call the dude below. Oh, note how NONE of the passengers are wearing a helmet. I guess helmet laws don't apply to one's passengers. Besides being "ghetto", it is unsafe. Check out the kids dangling on the side! Also, is the woman pregnant? Crazy!

Sneaky Fox
Here is another day old for the readers. If you are an avid Firefox user then you know that Firefox 3.6 is out! It was released yesterday the 21st, so check it out if you have not done so already. I upgraded earlier today and am writing this post using FF 3.6, nice.
I did not read the release notes, but some of the notable features in this release are speed improvements, Personas (new theme model), and other tweaks. Oh, 3.6 protects users from out-of-date plugins, so be sure to update your plugins as needed. I heart Firefox!
