Playable Doodle

This is NOT news, because I am sure millions are aware that Google has a kewl playable logo on their main page. Yup, I said playable as in capable of being played like a game. The game is in celebration of Pac-Man's 30th anniversary (released on May 22, 1980).

I stumbled on the playable logo early this morning (my home page is set to Google). I saw it, but did not think much about it until I heard the classic music. Wacka, wacka, wacka. I got my play on, but I am all thumbs. Below is my best score out of 3 games. Boo!

Worst Commercial

There are many crappy commercials out there, but one commercial takes the cake. I would rank it as one of the worst ever. Without further ado, I bring you 'Education Connection'. I cringe even as I type the name. Damn!

I do not know what is worse, the irritating jingle or 'rapingle' (yeah, I just made that up) or the lame-o actress. Whatever it is, I cannot stand this commercial. Am I alone on this or do others want to bounce their TV when the commercial airs?

Reader Comments

I have read my fair share of post comments across the web, but every once in a while I run across a comment that catches my attention. Well, I was reading a post about the Mayor's "Green" Initiative when I came across such a comment. No context necessary. I agree!

We should elect economists, doctors, scientist, professors, etc. as our leaders. Instead we elect celebrities, politicians, lawyers and wealthy "businessmen."

Taco Bell Meal Deals

Attention frugal fast food eaters, Taco Bell has introduced four new $2.00 meal deals. I am not much of a Taco Bell fan, but figured someone might be interested. I have not seen the commercials, but am sure they are out pimping the new wares.

In addition to their value meal items, you can now pickup a meal for two snaps. Check out the meals below. All $2.00 value meals come with a bag of Doritos and a medium drink. Not bad, but I could do without the chips. How about $1.49 minus the Doritos? Just a thought.

  • Beefy 5-Layer Burrito
  • Gordita Supreme
  • Grilled Chicken Burrito
  • Double Decker Taco

Nexus One Is Back!

Haha! This one is classic. I stumbled on a video of a Nexus One running Microsoft Windows 3.11. Check out the video below. Talk about mixing new school with old school. If you want to pimp your Nexus One too, follow the step-by-step instructions.

Turtle News

Damn! I got sidetracked with other news and forgot to mention that Sprint's HTC EVO 4G is available for pre-order. I was sleeping at the wheel, what the heck is wrong here? Anyway, the HTC EVO 4G is available for pre-order at Best Buy and Radio Shack NOW!

Actually, pre-orders started last week. One nice thing to note is that Best Buy will give you an instant rebate on the phone versus the lame ass mail-in rebate if purchased from Sprint directly. Restrictions always apply, so be sure to read all the fine print before ordering.

Top Searches

Here is another 'tip' for the readers. I read quite a bit of news, but every once in a while I change it up and read random articles from Google's Hot Search list. The hot search topics might not be my 'cup of tea', but it has enriched my overall knowledge of popular topics.

With Hot Searches, you can see a snapshot of what’s on the public’s collective mind by viewing the fastest-rising searches for different points of time. You can see a list of today’s top 40 fastest-rising search queries in the U.S. You can also select a recent date in history to see what the top rising searches were and what the search activity looked like over the course of that day. Hot Searches are updated hourly.

Here is an example. I am not a horse racing fan and never seek out horse racing news, but I know that 'Lookin at Lucky' won the Preakness Stakes 2010 today. Go ahead, stay on top of the daily hot topics. Check out the Google Trend tools.

Store Closed!

I just read that Google is going to shut down their Nexus One Web Store. Well, I cannot say that I am surprised. Nexus One sales are anemic, plus Verizon and Sprint are not interested in carrying the Nexus One. Hurry, it is not too late to pimp the Nexus One oversees!

But, as with every innovation, some parts worked better than others. While the global adoption of the Android platform has exceeded our expectations, the web store has not. It’s remained a niche channel for early adopters, but it’s clear that many customers like a hands-on experience before buying a phone, and they also want a wide range of service plans to chose from.

Farcebook

Ha! The mighty Facebook is getting kicked in the nuts daily for their never-ending changes to privacy settings. Who the hell is running that shipwreck? Whoever it is kicked signups to the curb. Signups are 'apparently' down as much as 48%. We don't need stinkin' privacy!

Here is a small nugget to consider. If you are tired of the Facebook bullshit, do not give up hope. They are going to get kicked in the nuts again soon. How the hell do I know? Let us say that their loose lips will sink ships. Man overboard!
