Free Instantiations Tools

I was not aware that Google acquired Instantiations, but they did. The good news is Google is offering the developer tools for free. Nice. Head on over to the Google Web Toolkit page for more information.

In early August, Google acquired Instantiations, a company known for its focus on Eclipse Java developer tools, including GWT Designer. We're happy to announce today that we're relaunching the following former Instantiations products under the Google name and making them available to all developers at no charge.

3-D Movie Overload

Since the release of Avatar 3-D, studios are pumping out 3-D flicks like they are going out of style. How many damn 3-D movies can we take? In the past 30-45 days, studios released Step Up 3-D, Piranha 3-D, and Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Every movie is NOT a candidate for 3-D, so why are the studios releasing crap? Anyone want to take a guess? Did the studios jump on the 3-D bandwagon in hopes of making shitloads of cash like Avatar? Hmm, keep dreaming sheep (haha).

Check out some of the 3-D movies in the queue:

  • My Soul to Take
  • Jackass (Steve-O's ass in 3-D, no thanks!)
  • Saw 3-D
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
  • The Green Hornet (2011)
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)
  • Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom (2011)
  • Green Lantern
  • Transformers 3

The Skanky Peanut

Have you ever eaten food or candy, which contains peanuts. Lame peanut sauce does not count. I am referring to raw, whole peanuts. Anyway, have you ever bitten into that skanky peanut? Wassup with that? The peanut is so sour it makes your ass tighten up, yuck!

Nut Sack Guy

Bruahaha! I just noticed that Peter Griffin is sporting a "nut sack" chin! Peter, do you tea bag Lois with your chin? Funny, I watch Family Guy on a regular basis and just noticed the nut sack-like double chin. I must need glasses. Nice one.

The Real Velma

May I have your attention please. Will the 'real' Velma Dinkley please stand up. Alright, time for another blurb. Have you seen the preview for the latest made-for-television Scooby Doo movie? I caught of glimpse of it earlier today and the casting is lame!

The casting for the Scooby Doo 'live' movies was well done with the exception of Fred, but that is another rant. Anyway, Linda Cardellini was a natural to play Velma in the live movies, so what is up with the casting of a Japanese actress to play Velma?

Come on now, who does the studio think they are fooling? I knew Sum Ting was Wong when I saw Velma. Too bad, because the live action movies did well in the box office. The made-for-television movies are going to be stinkers. Everyone, put an 'L' in the air.

Ninja Jobs

Haha! I do not know if the story is true, but who really cares? Apparently, Steve Jobs was stopped at a Japan airport for carrying Ninja stars and other weapons. Apple disputes the news of course. Whatever, I want to see airport video of Steve getting Jap slapped!

“Steve did visit Japan this summer for a vacation in Kyoto, but the incidents described at the airport are pure fiction,” said Steve Dowling, a spokesman for the company. “Steve had a great time and hopes to visit Japan again soon.”

Cooter and Hutch

It appears Starsky's Red Gran Torino made a one time appearance on The Dukes of Hazzard show. The theory is the Ford ended up in Hazzard as a joke, ha. Anyway, I found the below snippet on Wikipedia. If you have another theory, let us know.

During the last season of Starsky and Hutch, The Dukes of Hazzard premiered on CBS, and one of the factory replicas was used in the first episode, "One Armed Bandits", seen to be driven by regular character Cooter Davenport (Ben Jones). This was the only appearance of the Torino in the series, and many fans have speculated over its strange one-off appearance. One theory is that it was merely an in-joke, with the Torino's former iconic car status now being taken over by the Dukes' car "The General Lee".

Starsky and Cooter

Remember the Red Gran Torino in Starsky and Hutch? I was flipping through the tv channels and saw Cooter of The Dukes of Hazzard fame driving the "Striped Tomato". What the heck? I do not recall ever seeing the Gran Torino on the Dukes television show.

The Red Gran Torino made an appearance in The Dukes of Hazzard premier episode, "One Arm Bandits", which aired on January 26th, 1979. How did the famous Ford make its way to Hazzard County? If anyone knows, please leave a comment.
