Cinco De Mayo

Cinco De Mayo is not widely celebrated in Mexico, but here in the US of A it is celebrated to recognize the heritage and pride of the Brownies. Nope, I am not referring to the Indian people. Estoy refiriendo a la gente Mexicana.

Anyway, there is a misconception about Cinco De Mayo so I kindly borrowed a snippetĀ from Wikipedia to clear things up. Read and get your learn on. That was too easy, right? I will be back tomorrow with some news and a rant. Later!

It is a common misconception among the non-Mexican community in the United States to mistake Cinco de Mayo, or May 5th, with the Mexican Independence Day, which occurs on September 16th; Cinco de Mayo actually commemorates the victory of the Mexican Army over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, during the French invasion of Mexico.
