Korean BBQ

My friends and I have been frequenting a Korean restaurant in the area for a couple years now called Oz Korean BBQ. We commonly refer to the establishment as "The Oh Zee" We visit there for special occasions or whenever we have a hankering to hang out and have some delicious beef. The quality of the marinated beef and food is excellent. The wait staff is usually pretty friendly and helpful. Recently, the crew has felt that we haven't been getting our fair share of beef when we order two or more orders. It's little things like if you order two orders together you get 2 mushrooms instead of four. Not a big deal until everyone at the table wants the mushroom. So we've been feeling a little short changed and decided to try a new Korean BBQ.

One of my colleagues has a Korean wife and suggested that they love to eat at the Seoul Restaurant. Eventually we were able to gather up some of the crew and head over to the place. After Ninja cut off WassupJose on the way there we all arrived and headed to the BBQ. The menu was in Korean and we had to order by picture and number. The woman who was serving us gave us these menus and left...for a while. When she finally arrived, we decided to skip the cuttlefish appetizers and go straight for the beef. Her attitude insisted that we were bothering her with our presence. The rest of the night we were subjected to an unwelcome attitude. I realize that we're probably not ordering or eating in the traditional manner, but we're still there spending money. We didn't order too much more. Ninja ordered some chicken which turned out to be quite tasty, and I believe I finally coaxed a second beer out of her. Our general assessment was that we weren't welcome, so we wouldn't be back.

My wife and I returned to the OZ just last night after deciding that even with a more expensive price tag the atmosphere was worth the extra $$ we were spending there. When we first started visiting OZ all those years ago we would order a sizable plate of beef with all the fixins. More recently they've been limiting the sides which come with the beef. This time we had to pay for sides of lettuce and extra sides of rice. They're even skimping on the rice these days. On top of this, we got the same attitude that we received at Seoul. What the hell? I just don't understand this whole complex that I seem to be getting at the Korean BBQs. Is my money not green enough?

Whatever, I'm done with the attitude. The chips keep stacking up against me at these places. I've reached my breaking point. Time to find a new place to eat. I'll just have to default back to Tres Hermanas...you know...where you don't pay for having TVs at the urinals.
