Momentarily Fried by 3.5 SP1 (Beta)
So I tried to install the SQL Server 2008 Management Studio today. Downloaded of MS.com and began the install. The wizard said I needed 3.5 SP1 Beta in order to continue with install. No problem I figured. Until I recieved this message.
Tried a couple of Retries to no avail. Since I obviously can't close the installer without stopping the installation, I decided to ignore the message. Ignoring itself seemed to make sense to me. That is till the installer didn't progress anymore and that canceling this action put all my .NET applications into a state of NOT WORKING. Reinstall of .NET was required. I couldn't even use the bootstrap for some reason. I had to download the full installer. Thankfully MS had it available.
