OnStar retreats. OnStar has announced that it will not collect data from customers who do not have an OnStar plan. What a concept. Read the below comment from OnStar President Linda Marshall. Bullshit! #Fail

If you own a General Motors vehicle with OnStar, this post is for you. OnStar is updating its Privacy Statement to allow selling of your private data. Also, OnStar will continue to collect data even if you do not have an OnStar plan. WTF!
Read the Privacy Statement and then call OnStar to deactivate the data collection. You do have a choice, so exercise it. I do not own a GM product, else I would call OnStar and tell them to pound sand! #Fail
Unless the Data Connection to your Vehicle is deactivated, data about your Vehicle will continue to be collected even if you do not have a Plan. It is important that you convey this to other drivers, occupants, or subsequent owners of your Vehicle. You may deactivate the Data Connection to your Vehicle at any time by contacting an OnStar Advisor.
