Cinco De Mayo

Cinco De Mayo is not widely celebrated in Mexico, but here in the US of A it is celebrated to recognize the heritage and pride of the Brownies. Nope, I am not referring to the Indian people. Estoy refiriendo a la gente Mexicana.

Anyway, there is a misconception about Cinco De Mayo so I kindly borrowed a snippetĀ from Wikipedia to clear things up. Read and get your learn on. That was too easy, right? I will be back tomorrow with some news and a rant. Later!

It is a common misconception among the non-Mexican community in the United States to mistake Cinco de Mayo, or May 5th, with the Mexican Independence Day, which occurs on September 16th; Cinco de Mayo actually commemorates the victory of the Mexican Army over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, during the French invasion of Mexico.

Goat People

The following is not a rant, instead it is a question. Kid, kid, kid. Why do some parents refer to their children as kids? I think it sounds a bit detached and impersonal but what the heck do I know. "Continued after the break". Ha, always wanted to sneak that phrase in.

Read the following examples, "I am going to take my son to see a movie." versus "I am going to take my kid to see a movie." Here is another, "I need to feed my son." versus "I need to feed my kid." Doesn't the use of "kid" have an odd sense about it or is it just me?

Damn! Another Ding

What the heck? Another ding in the chain? Yes peeps, it is true. I am back in the saddle, so that is not the excuse. I just got off work! Go figure, working late on a damn Friday. I think someone needs to credit me some time off next week. Mofos!

Chalkboard Scratch

I heart Family Guy, but one, err, two things bug the shit out of me. Lois and Chris have two of the MOST annoying voices ever. Their voices rank right up there with Fran "The Nanny" Drescher, Gilbert Gottfried, Jerry Seinfeld, and [insert your vote here].

Lois' squeaky, nasal voice reminds me too much of the mega-annoying Fran Drescher. Quick rant. How the hell did "The Nanny" shoot 145 episodes over 6 years? Some people have low expectations for entertainment. Whatever. End rant.

Chris' slurry, under the breath voice is just irritating. Apparently, the voice was inspired by "Buffalo Bill" in "Silence of the Lambs". Whatever the inspiration, the character has one of the top annoying voices. Luckily Peter, Brian, and Stewie make the voices "tolerable".

Ding The Chain

SOB! I am feeling like crap today, so I am going to ding the chain. Not sure what is up, but I am cutting this post SHORT. Hopefully, I will be back in the saddle tomorrow and publish a couple of "makeup" posts. Later.

Wassup Tweets

What the heck, people are tweeting my stuff. I was checking out the logs and noticed the referrer was Twitter. Does this mean Wassup Jose is moving on up like the Jeffersons? Hmm, I think the Netflix on Android post is the culprit.

Also, searches for "sexy feet" are over the top. Even though the pictures are average, I am going to publish them for the readers. I am going to skip the custom template for now, just dropping everything into a picture viewer. Check back this week. Later peeps.

Commercial Break

I purchased a copy of Avatar early this evening and could not wait to watch it, so I popped the DVD into the DVD player and it was on. Minor problem! The movie will run past midnight and I have to publish a post tonight else I am going to break the chain.

I did not plan to watch the movie this evening, so here is "another" cheesy post. Yeah, this one is pretty cheesy but I have to get back to the movie. Some days the damn "chain" gets on my nerves. It is consuming my very existence. Yeah right, later!

Private Screening

Alright, it has been a long time coming but the first sets are ready. I am still waiting for the designer to send me the latest concept, so I cannot post the photos quite yet. However, I am going to invite the blog authors to a private screening. Comments please!

Back Tomorrow

Okay, this is a place holder post. I am going out with some of the crew members tonight, so if you see this post it means that I did not make it back before midnight to publish the daily post. Yeah, it is lame but I have to keep the chain going. Later!

Dark Side of the Moon

I downloaded Flaming Lips new cover of Dark Side of the Moon and now I can't move or use two of the files because of the 255 character limit on Windows. I download all my songs to e:\Documents and Settings\Gabe\My Documents\My Music\Amazon MP3. In all the usually verbosness of Flaming Lips the artist name is: The Flaming Lips and Stardeath And White Dwarfs and the album name is "The Flaming Lips, Stardeath and the White Dwarfs with Henry Rollins and Peaches Doing the Dark Side of the Moon" That's 223 characters all combined. Then include in that the song names like "Speak To Me/Breathe [feat. Henry Rollins and Peaches] (Album Version) [Explicit]". For some reason my computer is able to create these files, but can't rename them because the absolute path is too long. Though now that I think about it, I think I was able to rename the album name and then par down the file names as well to get around this. Still annoying though.
