Text Message Recall
Have you ever sent a text message that you wanted to recall and delete from all in-boxes? I have sent my fair share and wished I had a recall feature, oh well. All is not lost, check this out. One can now send self destructing text messages.
Before you get too happy, I should note that this is available only on the iPhone. There is a new iPhone application on the block, which is appropriately named "TigerText". Users can "send texts that don't live forever."
Project Pink
Nope, this post is not about my ongoing porn site projects. Haha! It's about the next buzz to hit the dub dub dub. Apparently, the Microsoft Zune Phone and Windows 7 Mobile will be announced later this month.
There is new shit coming out most EVERY day! I can barely keep up with the news. Anyway, Microsoft is FINALLY getting into the game with their own phone. Is this another "Too late to the game" offering from the Redmond Rebels?
AT&T In The News
Is it me or is all AT&T news "bad"? Headline, "AT&T Flaw Provided Access to Other People’s Facebook Accounts". As mentioned before, I do NOT make this shit up. I was rolling when I read this. Kapow! AT&T gets smacked down again. Verizon must be laughing like a mofo.
Generally Web sites and computers are compromised from within… But in this case, it was a security gap between the AT&T phone and the Web site that exposed strangers’ Facebook pages. Misconfigured equipment, poorly written network software or other technical errors could have caused AT&T to fumble the information flowing from the phones to Facebook and back.
Hmm, one more item. AT&T wireless customers should thank Verizon for lowering their plan prices. Why thank Verizon? Because AT&T followed their lead and come tomorrow, wireless customers can change to the new plans and save a couple dollars. Yup! Pigs do fly.
Another T-Mobile Scam
The following has occurred twice now, so I am going to assume it is NOT a coincidence. If I am using a lot of voice time and plan on going over the plan minutes, I will call T-Mobile and upgrade the voice plan versus risk paying overage charges.
Simple process and the representative will back date the plan, so I have immediate access to the additional plan minutes. Gee, that is great service. Wait one T-Bagger minute. What happens if I want to downgrade? The scammers will post date the downgrade.
Yup! You got it; one has to ride out their current plan until the end of the billing period. I called 5 days into a new billing period and had used less than 30 minutes. WTF! There is NO reason I cannot be downgraded immediately, right? Another scam alert!
CES 2010 Gadgets
Well, CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2010 is over and I am catching up on the latest and greatest products. I am skipping the latest television technologies, public service gadgets, and other crap. I am heading straight for the computer, gaming, and mobile goodies.
I am looking for a new phone, so I am checking out the mobile candidates. CES 2010 was all about Android (I keep telling you mofos! jump on that shit before it's too late). There are a couple of cool phones, but the one that caught my eye is the Lenovo LePhone.
The “N” Word
Wassup N____? Nexus is the latest buzz word these days and as leaked a couple weeks ago, Google held their press conference today and officially launched the Nexus website. Many refer to it as a "super" phone and others, like me, believe it is a notch above the Droid.
The Nexus site has a 3D tour and technical specifications, so check it out as needed. Also, it does appear the phone is available with only the T-Mobile 500 minute plan for $79.99 per month. Hmm, can eligible T-Mobile members upgrade to the Nexus One?
Go Go Gadget
One of my favorite "gadget" sites has got their hands on the new Nexus One. Engadget has published an exclusive hands-on post with tens of photos and a couple videos. Nice work. Their review is coming next, so I will be checking it out.
The phone does look sexy, but what is up with the damn roller balls? This crap is old school and needs to be dropped from Smartphones. Also, did I just read that the Nexus One does not have multi-touch? Another cluster right out of the gate.
Do NOT get me wrong! I do like the phone and glad to see that it will be released through T-Mobile and not AT&T, but I guess that I was expecting more. Played out HTC designs with new Google flavor does not equal the hype, it is more like Droid v1.1.
Nexus One Release Date
I heart leaked information! If you have been reading the news on the upcoming Nexus One, you know what I am referring to. Nice! Anyway, Wired has some interesting 411. The Google Nexus One will be released at an invitation only event on January 5, 2010.
If you did not receive an invitation to the release, do not worry. Ordinary Joes like me can buy it through T-Mobile for a cool $180.00 with a 2-year contract. The screenshot on Wired hints that only one plan is available. Fail if this is true.
Also the plan appears to be a 500 minute talk + unlimited messaging and web for $79.99 per month. This is a lame plan! I have an unlimited voice plan plus unlimited messaging and web for $84.99. Hopefully, T-Mobile will offer other plans else talkers are screwed!
iPhone for Big Apple
Another butt scratcher compliments of AT&T. The iPhone is available via the AT&T website again. WTF! I have read tens of follow up posts, but nobody seems to know the real reason iPhone sales to New York were suspended for a couple days. We may never know.
I am waiting for the "official" statement from AT&T, but I am not holding my breath. We all know it will be some marketing bullshit or better yet, AT&T will point the finger at someone else. Lame.
No iPhone for Big Apple
Apparently, AT&T has stopped selling iPhones in New York. If you recall, both New York & San Francisco are the two areas most affected by outages and congestion due to the large number of iPhone users in the areas.
This is not a solution to the problem! How about investing a small portion of the Billions you gouge from consumers on your infrastructure? Verizon, listen up. Seize the opportunity and develop another biatch slap AT&T commercial. Pimp the Droid to the Big Apple too!
Update: iPhones are available via the retail channel. Only the online sales of iPhones in N.Y. have been suspended due to conflicting reasons. Whatever the reasons, no iPhones to New York via the AT&T website. Oh, my comment regarding their infrastructure stands.
