Pre-Order iPhone 4
Picture this, thousands of Apple fanboys sitting in front of their iMacs hitting the "refresh" button eagerly waiting to be the first on their block to pre-order the iPhone 4. Yes peeps, it is true. The new iPhone 4 is available for pre-order today and ships by July 2nd.
As expected, the 16GB and 32GB versions sell for $199 and $299 (with new 2-year sentence with AT&T of course) respectively. BTW, only black is available at the moment. If you want the white iPhone 4, you need to wait (no estimate at this time) or check Best Buy.

Can’t Touch This!
If you are in the market for the new T-Mobile myTouch Slide, here is a tip. The myTouch is selling for $149.99 @ Best Buy and $229.99 (before $50 mail-in rebate) @ T-Mobile with a new 2-Year Plan or 2-Year Upgrade Plan.
Well, I just learned that Wal-Mart is selling the myTouch Slide for $129.99 with a new 2-Year Plan and $139.99 with a 2-Year Upgrade Plan. Want to save a few bucks? I am sure you know where to buy that phone. As always, shop around for the best deals!

Apple WWDC 2010
Well, Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference starts tomorrow and runs all week. All eyes are going to be on Steve Jobs and his opening keynote speech. Is he going to drop another bomb on the industry? Will he introduce the newest iPhone? What is Cupertino up to?
The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is the premier technical conference for developers innovating with Apple technologies. Over 1,000 Apple engineers will be at Moscone West to present advanced coding and development techniques that will show you how to enhance the capabilities of your applications with the revolutionary technologies in iPhone OS and Mac OS X.
Expect everyone and their brother to be blogging and tweeting the hell out of the speech tomorrow. I might post a couple nuggets tomorrow evening, but I am sure you will get more than enough (real-time) news from others. Scooter, are you attending WWDC 2010?
EVO 4G Sold Out!
Let’s cut to the chase, Sprint’s EVO 4G is out. I have had my eye on the phone since it was announced, so I called Best Buy, Radio Shack, and a couple of Sprint retail stores to check availability. “Sorry, we are sold out!” Are you kidding me?
No loss, I will just sit and wait until more become available. In the meantime, I want to read real-world reviews from "average" users. I have had enough of the geek reviews. Is the EVO 4G as badass as it appears?

Skype for iPhone
Skype 2.0 for iPhone is available, but read the FINE print. Skype is offering "free" Skype-to-Skype calls over 3G until the end of August then it will start charging a monthly fee. WTF is up with that? Hmm, let me think about this for one second.
Okay. Skype directly competes with AT&T voice over the 3G network; did AT&T "persuade" Skype to charge the fees? Think about it. Why else would Skype charge a fee for calls over the AT&T 3G network, but keep calls over WiFi free? Quick, someone dial 411.

Smartphones @ Walmart
Here are two 'quick' tips, just in case you missed them. Walmart is selling the Apple iPhone 3GS for $97 smacks. Talk about a rollback, do these things get any cheaper? Also, Walmart is offering the HTC EVO 4G on pre-sale. Why bother? The phone will be available next week.

Nexus One Is Back!
Haha! This one is classic. I stumbled on a video of a Nexus One running Microsoft Windows 3.11. Check out the video below. Talk about mixing new school with old school. If you want to pimp your Nexus One too, follow the step-by-step instructions.
Turtle News
Damn! I got sidetracked with other news and forgot to mention that Sprint's HTC EVO 4G is available for pre-order. I was sleeping at the wheel, what the heck is wrong here? Anyway, the HTC EVO 4G is available for pre-order at Best Buy and Radio Shack NOW!
Actually, pre-orders started last week. One nice thing to note is that Best Buy will give you an instant rebate on the phone versus the lame ass mail-in rebate if purchased from Sprint directly. Restrictions always apply, so be sure to read all the fine print before ordering.
Store Closed!
I just read that Google is going to shut down their Nexus One Web Store. Well, I cannot say that I am surprised. Nexus One sales are anemic, plus Verizon and Sprint are not interested in carrying the Nexus One. Hurry, it is not too late to pimp the Nexus One oversees!
But, as with every innovation, some parts worked better than others. While the global adoption of the Android platform has exceeded our expectations, the web store has not. It’s remained a niche channel for early adopters, but it’s clear that many customers like a hands-on experience before buying a phone, and they also want a wide range of service plans to chose from.
EVO 4G Release Date
Well, it looks like the Sprint HTC EVO 4G will be available on June 4th. I confirmed the date on the Sprint site, just to make damn sure. The retail price is listed at $199.99 with a 2-year agreement (after mail-in rebate).

The 4G service will be kickass, but note that it will be available in limited areas. The EVO 4G supports 3G too, but that is like driving a sports car around town in 1st gear. Below are the 4G cities announced to date. What? No 4G planned for our area!
