On the way to work, I heard back-to-back Michael Jackson songs on the radio and thought what the heck? Is it Michael Jackson day? I completely forgot that today, June 25th, marks the 1-year anniversary of his death. Posting a video as tribute to the musical legend.
Goo-Goo for Gaga
Gaga's video premiere of "Telephone" is available on YouTube. The video was published on Thursday, March 11th and has already racked up 14,544,737+ views. Damn! Love her or hate her, she is one of the hottest artists in the industry right now. Enjoy her latest.
Radio Playlist Rotation
Some radio stations play the same songs all day, what are the program directors thinking? I don't know about everyone else, but I need some variety throughout the day. Hearing the same playlist 10 times a day is bordering on unbearable, give it a break.
Also, the token "gay" personalities are NOT funny and worn out! Original programming must be on its way out, because all I hear these days is the same playlists and copy-cat contests, boring!
Winamp YouTube Support
I think adding YouTube support would be a logical next step. It is my understanding Muziic uses the YouTube API, so there is nothing proprietary about their player. I do not know if this is under consideration for Winamp, but if it is Muziic may soon be obsolete.
Muziic Update
I have been using Muziic for a couple days now and not sure I like switching between media players. This is one of the main reasons I used to convert the music to MP3 format, so I can play it locally in Winamp.
Also, this first release has several bugs and quirks. One quirk that I do not like is the volume has only 5-levels of adjustment. I can choose 20% - 100% in 20% intervals with no mute. Also, some videos get stuck and require a restart to replay. More to follow.
Muziic Lovers
Pay attention! I have a small music collection, which I enjoy playing on Winamp. However, I find myself searching YouTube for specific artists or compilations. In addition to the videos, I listen to music on YouTube.
Well, apparently others do the same. If you are living under a technology rock, you may not be aware of Muziic, The YouTube media player. It was released a couple weeks ago and has created a large buzz on the Internet.
I installed the application, so far so good. I think it is too early to say whether or not I like it, but I wanted to jump on the wagon and see what the news is all about. As a sidenote, I used to do this manually using DVDVideoSoft's YouTube to MP3 Converter.
Winamp
This is not news, but here is my contribution. Winamp is the reference media player, Media Player sucks! I have been using Winamp since version 1.0 back in the day and version 5.5x is excellent. Check out the WassupJose Winamp rockin' da beats.
Kanye Lip-Synching
Ha. Supposedly the self-proclaimed voice of the new generation was caught lip-synching on Saturday Night Live. He is just another overrated, overexposed, hype created by the music industry. Priceless!
Reggaeton Rush!
I have listened to all 1072 songs on the iPod, so I thought I would change it up a bit. The DJ collection has just about every genre, but does not have Reggaeton. No problem, I can put a small collection together for the commute.
Well, I rarely listen to Latin music (go figure) and find this genre of music HOT! It is not for everyone of course, but I like the Latin beats (Puerto Rican) with the hip hop style lyrics. I am hooked at the moment, so it is the music of choice. Nice!
