I Hate Kanye’s Music
I am working and listening to music, what a concept. However, this post is not about work or music in general. Instead, I just realized that I HATE Kanye's voice and music. Yeah, he is an award-winning artist big deal. I cannot listen to his crappy music at all. Arrgh!
I think Jay-Z is in the same league. He had a couple of hot tracks earlier in his career, but the crap he is putting out now is just that ... crap! They must think that they are invincible in the game. Whatever. I won't listen to their music.
Freestyle Concert 2008
Last night, I attended v101.1's Freestyle Old School concert at Arco. I managed to get front row (center) and third row aisle (center) tickets at the last minute. The concert was okay, but did not compare to last years explosion.
The artists included the following:
- Club Nouveau
- Coolio
- Digital Underground
- Klymaxx
- Lisa Lisa
- Montell Jordan
- Newcleus
- Young MC
The music was non-stop for the 1st 3 hours with performances from Klymaxx, Club Nouveau, Young MC, Digital Underground, Coolio, and Newcleus. {insert 15 minute break here.} Wrap it up with Montell Jordan and Lisa Lisa. Video snippets to follow.
Bernard Edwards
I never tire hearing him play bass on old Chic or Sister Sledge tracks; he was an incredible bass player and producer. If you do not know who Bernard Edwards is, read about him or better yet listen to some of his tracks. RIP Mr. Edwards.

Seventies Music
Tonight, was the first chance I have had to sample the never-ending DJ collection. I have been listening to the 70's music non-stop for several hours now and I must add that is has been nothing short of fantastic!
I am not sure why, but I lost touch of the music I grew up with and adopted the latest and greatest. 50 Cent, Timbaland, Lil Wayne, and the other current artists. The flash back has been great and I am looking forward to listening to the 80's.
Bass In Yo Face
Late night coding sessions are tough, but 120+ beat-per-minute break beats blowin' up the ear drums keep me going. I recently purchased some Electro-Breakdance compilations and it has been non-stop bass in your face beats, nice!
I queued the songs up in Winamp, plugged in the the reference JBL earbuds, and turned it up. Ka-POW! Check some of the beats.
- Afrika Bambaataa - Planet Rock (Instrumental)
- Cybotron - Clear (Ultimix Looking Back)
- Hashim - Al Naafiysh (Remix)
- Kyper - What Get Your Body Hyped
- Maggotron - Welcome To The Planet Of Bass
- Richie Rich - My DJ (Pump It Up Some)
- Twilight 22 vs. Egyptian Lover - Siberian Nights & Electric Kingdom
- Plus More ...
one of my favorite lyrics
And I am an enlightened bear, though a scavenger, through with scavenging.
Guitar Wizard Video Game
Here we go, posers trying to cash in on the success of the Guitar Hero video game series. Music Wizard Group is planning to release Guitar Wizard, a video game focused to teach kids to read and play the guitar. The video game will be available on both the PC and Mac platforms and will come with a real guitar. It is not a threat to Guitar Hero, so you can file this one in the bit bucket.
