Hey You!
"Hey You! What Song are you Listening to?" I found the below video on the Tosh.0 blog and checked it out. I wanted to see if any of the New Yorkers were listening to the Old School beats. No luck. "What Song are you Listening to?"
On The Charts
Quick update on J-Lo's single "On The Floor" featuring Pit Bull. I was watching other videos and noticed the video has over 185M views! The music video is hot on YouTube. How is the single doing overall? Check out the current statistics below.

RIP Bone
M-Bone of Cali Swag District died of gunshot wounds on Sunday. R.I.P. young man. I do not have any further details, so check out TMZ for more information on the story. Here is the remix of the Platinum hit, "Teach Me How to Dougie". Peace.
It’s Time!
Yesterday, I published "We Dub To Scratch" by Imperial Brothers. I have to rewind the time machine one more year, back to year 1983. Here is one of the greatest electronic tracks of all time. "Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)" by Jerry Calliste, Jr. aka Hashim.
This is not the original track from 1983, but the remix released a couple years later. I think I still have the 12-inch packed away for the time capsule. When I pass, "Al-Naafiysh" will be playing at the ceremony along with Bambaataa, Man Parrish, Newcleus, Planet Patrol, etc.

Funk Friday
I thought this week would never end. Anyway, it is time for another Old Skool jam. Here is "Give It To Me Baby" by Rick James. The song hit the number one spot on the R&B singles chart in 1981! I'm Rick James, Bitch! Enjoy yourself.
Computer Age
Are we under their control or are they under our control or what? Push the button! Shall I continue? Yup! Old Skoolers may recognize the post intro as lyrics to "Computer Age (Push the Button)" by Newcleus.
Going back to the 80's would NOT be complete without posting some electronic beats! So, here is a classic song with synthesizer based music and vocoder sound. Back to 1984! Push the PLAY Button!
Anger Management
Another short post. Moving forward Eminem shall be known as the "Angry White Rapper". I will elaborate when I have time. Until then, listen to any of his songs. He always sounds like he is angry or constipated. That dude is grossly over-rated.
Freestyle Friday
I am not going to bore you with news about the Royal Wedding, soaring gasoline prices, or Golden Boy's fake birth certificate. Nope. It is time for some Latin Freestyle. "Bad Of The Heart" by George Lamond. The Old Skool single was released on March 1990.
Old Skool Beats
I was going to publish another Old School Jam, but decided to take another approach. I am setting up a site dedicated to only Old School music. It would be a shame to mix the classic Old School beats with all of the nonsense posted here. Stay tuned for more information.
