Flakey Photographers
I am ready to drop a couple of "F" bombs, but will wait until I get this post out of the way. If you have been reading the sexy feet posts, you know that I am trying to launch a site for our readers. I dropped the ball a couple months ago, but continue to work on it.
The website stuff is ready, so I placed ads for the sexy feet models and met with a couple of photographers. The sexy feet models are eager and ready to shoot for the site, but the "professional" photographers have disappeared or changed their minds.
Car Rental Rates
Its time for another rant. As long as I can remember, car rental rates have been all over the board. Weekday and holiday daily rates are usually through the roof with weekends being a bit more realistic. Reserving a car weeks in advance can score you lower rates too.
I have not rented a car since I stopped traveling for work, so I was blown away when I tried to rent a car and saw the bend over daily rates. I need a car for Friday (not last minute, so the rates should not require a second mortgage right?), so I checked out Dollar.
Okay Dollar, are you going to hook me up with a deal or do me dry? SOB! This is twice in 2 days that I have had to yell out, "Son of a bitch!" Check out the screenshots below to see why I was pissed off. Oh, other agencies have/had higher daily rates. Go figure.
Where Are They Now?
If you have been following the drama regarding my small portfolio of domain names, read on because I am checking up on the kids. Where are they now? Did they end up with a piece of crap squatter or did they develop into award-winning websites?
Where is eBooties.com? I registered the domain name on July 7, 2006 and let it drop in July 2009. I was the registered owner for three short years and then abandoned it, nice! Well, I found eBooties.com shacked up with a squatter, poor little guy!
Check Mate
Earlier, I plugged a USB drive in and was notified that some files were corrupt and needed to be repaired. Alright, I will let Windows scan and automatically repair the errors. No big deal right? The Scandisk or Chkdsk utilities will repair the problems.
Wrong! The utilities will save the contents of lost or inconsistent clusters to .CHK files in a found.nnn folder. Fine, but how does one examine the contents of the files? Windows does NOT provide a native utility to view or manage .CHK files.
Rock Band 2 for Sale
I have a brand new, factory sealed copy of Rock Band 2 Special Edition for Xbox 360, which I must sell. I listed it on Craigslist a couple times, but all inquiries have been from trolls that want to trade or low ball the sale price!
I paid $180.00 plus the "Bend Over" taxes a few months ago and now, the game sells for less than 1/2 the original purchase price. Damn! If you live in CA and are looking for a new copy of Rock Band 2 SE for Xbox 360, let me know. $80.00 via PayPal to verified address ONLY!
Thirty-Eight
Thirty-eight is the number of OZ Galbi pieces served for two orders. I am over the damn flu and wanted to get my Korean BBQ on, so I headed over to our favorite grill off Bradshaw. I ordered two orders of OZ Galbi, one order of Pot Stickers, and two soft drinks. $80.00!
I think I received a couple more pieces this time, but cannot help feeling that $1.18 each is too expensive. The price is probably based on total weight, but averaged out per piece the price sucks. It is time to try Seoul Restaurant.
Hmm, I should mention that our waitress forgot to turn on the overhead fan and the smoke from the grill burned the crap out of my eyes. I had to wave her down and ask her to turn the fan on, because I felt like I was driving behind an oil burning beater.
Damn Carts
Have you ever shopped at Ikea? If so, have you ever used their shopping carts or flat carts? Yes, the carts with four-wheel independent steering. The damn carts do NOT travel in the direction they are pointed! WTF!
Each time I use one of their shopping carts, I want to kick the shit out of it. I do not know about you, but I prefer that the cart not perform a 360-degree turn when I want to turn a corner. Stupid cart design. Ikea, listen up. I hate your damn carts!
Back In The Saddle
Well, as they say "I am back in the saddle, again!" Before I go on, who the hell are "they"? Those mofos say everything and anything. Anyway, I think I shook the H1W1 aka Whine Flu! I am ready for Poker Night, OZ BBQ, Pizza, Bay Area Massages, and more. Bring it!
Oh, if we do OZ BBQ again I am taking ONLY $30.00 cash and leaving the rest of the shit at home. I do not wanna get stuck with the mofo bill again. This does not apply to Gman! Do I really need to publish another code sample to out the slackers?
Time Flew
The short vacation flew by way TOO fast for me. It is hard to believe that I was off for nine days (including weekends and the holiday) and it is time to return to work. Dammit! I think I got robbed.
Holiday dinner, Black Friday shopping, and this flu definitely took away from the vacation. I plan on taking another vacation, but will factor in time for the holiday and take a full week off. Crap, back to work in the morning.
Attention Shoppers
Are you ready for Black Friday? I usually try to stay away from the overzealous crowds, but think I am going to jump on the sale boat (haha, get it?) this year. Both Walmart and Target have deals on items that I want to purchase.
The only thing I am not looking forward to is the 5:00 AM start times! The crowds are going to be a pain in the ass too, but I am going to try and maximize the time. How? I am planning departure times, mapping store routes, and preparing my shopping lists.
Oh, one more item. If you are one of the overzealous shoppers waiting for Black Friday, try to take it easy on the credit cards. The mofo banks are drooling on the sideline waiting for consumers to rack up their account balances. Good luck.
