A couple of months ago, I purchased a new CD receiver for the handsome Focus. The OEM radio and CD unit died out after five plus years of service thus the new receiver. I was not looking for a reference system, so I purchased an entry-level unit.
The make is Kenwood and the model is KDC-MP238. The unit plus hardware and installation was approximately $200, so I went ahead and purchased it. Originally, I wanted a Sony but the salesperson commented (read bullshit) it was not a good unit.
Whatever moron, I just want a CD receiver so I can blow this taco stand. Well, after months of using the Kenwood receiver I can honestly state the unit is a piece of crap. The display is useless during the day and the multi-function volume knob sucks.
Ok, curiosity got the best of me. I watched the trailers on YouTube weeks ago and tonight I watched the two-hour premiere of the Knight Rider movie on NBC. Well, it was not great and it was not bad. How is that for commitment?
The only reason I watched the movie was to see the Ford Mustang-based KITT. For the old skool KITT fans, we know the original KITT was an ‘82 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The black Mustang looked hot, but it seemed out of place in the movie.
I, for one, believe that KITT was the star of the show. Hasselhoff was a supporting actor in the series! Okay, back to the Mustang. I did not like the double-decker wing or the stripes on the car. Also, missing were the digital dash and Turbo Boost features … boo!
The Mustang is a Ford icon, but it cannot replace the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am for KITT. I think a 5th-generation Firebird Trans Am would have been a better choice, but again what do I know? Oh, Hasselhoff had a cameo as Michael Knight … of course.
YouTube is the reference video sharing site, period. Not so fast Ricky Racer, video sharing sites are popping up each day. Each with their own niche or unique features, so it is only appropriate that we give props to sites that do video BETTER than YouTube:
I have not watched the Simpsons television series in over 10 years. So, when The Simpsons Movie was released in theaters, I did not run to the local theater for a reason. It is not a movie I desired to see. Well, against my better judgment, I bought The Simpsons Movie on DVD for Christmas and watched it a few nights ago.
The novelty of the Simpsons and their antics wore off years ago. Bart the mischievous brat, Homer the dysfunctional family leader, and Marge the annoying whiner! It was too much for one person to take in one evening. It is clear that Fox is milking this tired franchise for all its worth!
I am sure that I am in the minority here, given the movie was nominated for a People’s Choice Award. The Simpsons Movie was nominated for favorite movie comedy. Wait, not so fast … the other two nominees for favorite movie comedy are Knocked Up and Wild Hogs! Three “L”osers were nominated for a People’s Choice Award, nice!
Gene Shalit from the Today show commented, “You’ll laugh till your knees hurt and you can’t breathe!” Gene, were you smoking medicinal herbs during the movie? “Spider pig, spider pig” is not funny. Two thumbs down, I did not like the movie! Any comments from the Simpsons lap dogs?
