I am speechless. Apple founder, Steve Jobs has passed away. Read the announcement from Apple's Board of Directors. Send your condolences to rememberingsteve@apple.com. Rest In Peace Steve.

Kapow! Carol Bartz, Yahoo! CEO, has been fired. I am not surprised by the news, it was just a matter of time. Tim Morse, Yahoo! CFO, is the interim CEO. Below is the email Bartz sent to all Yahoo! employees. The email is also known as the Yahoo! "iGotFired". Haha.

I am very sad to tell you that I've just been fired over the phone by Yahoo's Chairman of the Board. It has been my pleasure to work with all of you and I wish you only the best going forward.

Apple iResign

Below is the resignation letter Steve Jobs sent to the Apple Board of Directors. The letter is also known as the Apple "iResign".

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

What happened to all of the netbooks? You know, the lightweight computers that were all the buzz a year ago. I was surprised to see them at Best Buy. I thought the netbooks were phased out for the tablets. Anyone want to bet this year will be the end of netbooks?

Have you seen the new Motorola Tablet advertisement? The Tablet Evolution ad takes shots at both the Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab. I hope Motorola has a kick ass tablet or it will be a major fail. Do you know what the bee signifies? Hint. Honeycomb.

TabTop At CES

Ah, CES is right around the corner and the rumors are starting to fly. One rumor is that M$ plans to show a tablet with a slide-out keyboard. A tablet with a keyboard? I think someone is reaching for straws and needs to rethink their strategy, but what do I know? "L"!

The company believes there is a huge market for business people who want to enjoy a slate for reading newspapers and magazines and then work on Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint.

Diamond VC500 Driver Update

If you are using the Diamond VC500 with Windows 7 and are experiencing driver issues, here is an update to my previous post. Diamond now offers a Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) driver, so no need to use the Vista driver. Here is the direct link to the Windows 7 driver.

Time To Fly The Coop

I just read that Chris Wilson, long-time Microsoft employee and IE architect, has jumped off the Microsoft ship for the big "G" aka Google. Kapow! Apparently, Wilson has a 1-year non-compete, so do not expect him to work on Chrome anytime soon. Nice move.

As I reached the conclusion that I’d helped IE along as much as I could, I felt it was a good time to reassess where I ultimately want to go with my career, and I realized that I really needed to stretch my wings beyond Microsoft.
