Elvira Returning This Fall
While sifting through the aftermath of Comic-Con 2010 news, I learned that Elvira "Mistress of the Dark" is returning to television. Nice! The cheesy horror movies and the "twins" are returning this fall. I will post updates as I learn more.
"Elvira’s Movie Macabre" will be officially making its return to television this fall with all NEW episodes! All dates, times, and channels are TBA later this summer. The show is syndicated (national) so times and channels will depend on your area/market.
Worst Commercial
There are many crappy commercials out there, but one commercial takes the cake. I would rank it as one of the worst ever. Without further ado, I bring you 'Education Connection'. I cringe even as I type the name. Damn!
I do not know what is worse, the irritating jingle or 'rapingle' (yeah, I just made that up) or the lame-o actress. Whatever it is, I cannot stand this commercial. Am I alone on this or do others want to bounce their TV when the commercial airs?
Late Night Fiasco
What the hell is going on with late night programming? Leno's show sucks major ass, so NBC is moving him back to his old time slot. Like that will make him suck less ass, he is lame-o. I read that Conan told NBC to pound sand. Good for him.
The mofos at NBC are kissing Leno's ass, so Conan gets bumped. I am sure everyone knows that it all boils down to ratings and greed, right? If the Leno show is not performing, kick it to the curb. Seems pretty simple to me.
BTW, I do not watch "Late Night" with Conan. I am just commenting that I think he got the shaft. Anyway, I hit Google to search for more 411 and guess what Google suggested? I see others are inline with WassupJose. Nice.
TFS Generating list of changesets
Yesterday I created a new build in TFS for one of my components. This new build would be a build specifically designed to ready the component for the Staging environment. I created the build after someone mentioned that one of the components on staging wasn't working and I had recently changed some of my build structures on TFS, so I need a new solution. The project I've been working on has been accumulating source code and data for just over a year. Combine that with several other organizational projects and that's alot of information on the back end. My new build was taking forever and seemed to be stuck or frozen on the "Generating list of changesets". I was wondering if I had done something wrong or if there was just a glitch. I stopped the build and restarted it. Still the build gets stuck while generating the changesets. I decided to do a quick search and found that Manish has identified this as a slow area. Thanks to Manish I decided to wait the build out. More than two hours later and the build finally completed. After the first initial build, all subsequent builds processed in one minute. Just need to get through that first build and let it build the relationships for the build I suppose.
YouTube For Television
It was just a matter of time, but it is here. YouTube "XL" is a new service from our favorite video sharing site. At the moment, it is a YouTube lite optimized for television. HD is coming soon, plus other features copied from Hulu and others. Is cable headed for the curb?
Fake Brownie
Do you watch The George Lopez Show? If so, then you're probably familiar with the regular cast. Have you ever thought to yourself, "Hmm, Carmen does not appear to be of Mexican descent". I know I have and this evening, I had to check it out.
Drum roll please. * drum roll * Carmen C. Lopez aka Masiela Lusha was born in Albania. I have always thought her character was out of place, but I could not pin it down. The mystery is solved. Yeah, I know she is playing a role but inquiring minds had to know. Ha!
Premium Cable
Is not what it is cracked up to be, so I am ditching HBO and Cinemax ASAP. I waste $30 per month watching the same crap over and over. Major ripoffs. The ONLY value might be HBO sport events, but it is still weak.
The on-demand movie rentals are $4-6 per movie for a 24-hour viewing period. Ripoff! We do not have to lug our lazy butts down to the local video store, but $6 for 1-day is too much. I can rent a 2-day rental for less $8 per movie, wassup?
I think I am going to try Netflix. For $16.99 per month, I can have 3 DVDs out at-a-time plus I can stream movies directly to an Xbox 360 console. I would save $150+ per year over cheesy premium channels and its cheaper than on-demand. Stay tuned for an update.
Free-Per-View
I planned on watching a PPV sports event this evening, but was discouraged when I learned it was $55.00. I might not be watching the event at this price. Let me check Yahoo! sports, $44.95. It is $10.05 cheaper, but still a small investment.
What shall I do? Order the PPV sports event from the cable company and watch it from the comfort of the couch or order from Yahoo! and watch it on the notebook computer? Hmm, decisions, decisions.
Whatever the decision, $45.00 stills seems a bit steep considering that I want to watch only the main event. Dammit! What are the odds that someone will stream the event on the web for less than $40.00? I don't know, let me Google that and find out.
Score! I found a 'free' live stream on Mogulus, nice! The view page had an annoying chat to the right of the video player, but beggers can not be choosers. I sat down on a hard chair, cleaned the LCD, and got my sports on. Check the shout-out!
Carlos Mencia
Tonight, Comedy Central is airing Carlos Mencia - Performance Enhanced. I am not a Carlos Mencia fan, but thought I would check it out for a few minutes. Well, a few minutes were more than enough to remind me this guy is not funny.
The material for his routine centers around racism and handicapped topics, which are old and played out. Not to mention his delivery is horrible. Also, I just learned that his Mind of Mencia show was renewed and will premiere tomorrow night. Horrible.
Best TV Shows
Since we seem to have a lot of TV show bashing lately (Jose!)... I thought maybe we should take a poll on what everyone's favorite show of all time is. Mine... Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Oh, Sarah Michelle Gellar... you are soooo hot, you could slay me anytime.
