Haha! Look what I found on Craigslist. Does the project background sound familiar? If this is the project I think it is, the problems are not going to be fixed anytime soon. Also, I assure you that the vendor is NOT going to find an architect-level consultant for $60 per hour.

Let me guess, the SQL architect will be billed at a $105 per hour CMAS rate and the vendor is paying only $60. I think I know who the cheap vendor is too!! Does the vendor name start with an "E", "K", "H", or "T"? Losers!

Senior Database Architect For Est. 8 to 10 weeks
(Local Sacramento Candidates Only For Onsite work)

DURATION
Client is requesting the services of one Senior Database Architect consultant. The contract term estimated to be October 7, 2009 through December 15, 2009. Total estimated work hours for this contract are 270. Additional services may be required if an unanticipated task is discovered, such as, but not limited to, additional requirements discovered during the system analysis. In such event, the client may amend the contract for additional work.

PROJECT BACKGROUND & SUMMARY
The project entails working on an existing automated claim processing system which is a custom web-based for claims processing, tracking and reporting system built using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 tools, including VB.net, ASP 2.0, Team Foundation Server, SQL Server 2005, automated facsimiles, and document imaging. It is a multi-tiered, object oriented and highly secure extranet application that interfaces with mainframe, document management, fax, and printer systems.

SCOPE OF SERVICES
The general tasks for the purpose of this contract are to re-engineer existing data sources, including the following:
a. Review existing logical and physical database models to identify structural changes that will maximize robustness and performance
b. Analyze application and database issues to assess performance, scalability, availability and maintainability
c. Develop and review test procedures
d. Develop estimates and schedules on best methods of implementing design solutions

YOUR BACKGROUND

You must have minimum 10 years MS Platform experience particularly in MS SQL SERVER db design and implementation. Experience must include re-engineering data sources for increased performance and leading architectural design for complex problem solutions. Must provide two project references.

RESUME DUE BY FRIDAY OCT 2, 2009

We’re seeking an independent 1099 contractor. Must submit at least 3 professional references and 2 project references in your resume. Please be available for phone or in-person interview on Oct 3 or 4. If you are selected for the project, please be available on Oct 6 or 7 for client interview in Sacramento and possibly start on the same day.
