MySQL Development
I am a mega-newbie to the MySQL database platform, so I prepared myself for long nights of RTFMs and repeated trial and error. Wrong! It has been an interesting learning experience and I must give credit to MySQL for their excellent open source database engine and tools.
The MySQL administration console, query browser, workbench, and connectors are easy to use and posses intuitive interfaces. I am still getting used to a couple items, but overall the development has been smooth. Nice!
In addition to MySQL, I am learning PHP. The following books have been great resources:
- Apress Expert MySQL
- Apress Practical Web 2.0 Applications with PHP (using the Zend framework)
- Apress Practical Rails Social Networking Sites (not interested in Rails)
