COD Breaks Sales Record
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 one-day sales numbers are in. "Envelope please." Call of Duty generates a whopping $310 million in 24 hours! I thought the GTA IV release was huge until I read the news. Holy crap!
Apparently, Modern Warfare 2 shattered the one day entertainment sales record. I think it includes movies and other forms of entertainment. Not an apples to apples comparison, but it puts the huge number into perspective. Yes, the game is hotter than a Naga Jolokia.

I’m not much of an FPS player, but I ended up with the original Modern Warfare as a gift. The game had some great unexpected moments that gave the game a visceral feel. The end game had a N64 007 GoldenEye feel that lingered just long enough.
I’ve been hesitant about picking up the new game just because I know everyone likes to say how great a franchise is before they actually play the IP. Ah well, I’ll be hitting up Mass Effect 2 for sure. I’ll keep my eye on used copies of the game in the next few months.
